HONOLULU, HAWAII, December 30, 2005 – Microsoft’s new Empower ISV software package has enabled Inovaware Corporation, a leading developer of IP-centric billing and customer management solutions, to cost-effectively and significantly enhance its billing and customer management product portfolio. By integrating .NET technology from Microsoft Empower ISV into the company software architecture, Inovaware has been able to deploy a number of new and exciting features including:
• PRISM API and Resolve API – PRISM and Resolve are respectively Inovaware’s core billing and help desk software modules. Empower ISV was used to develop Inovaware’s new web service API, utilizing the .NET Framework, to seamlessly deploy the company’s customer management and help desk software functionalities on the web as well as to integrate key customer back office functionalities.
• CryptoServer – Major credit card companies have formed a set of security standards through which service providers, and their vendors, must meet when processing sensitive credit card information. Crypto Server is .NET’s answer to offering the highest degree of encryption security. Deploying CyptoServer, as a key feature of Inovaware’s PRISM software architecture, gives Inovaware’s customers the ultimate assurance to meeting today’s security challenges though an extremely scalable and reliable encryption architecture.
• Server Control V2 – Inovaware’s Server Control v2 utilizes .NET’s flexible plug-in system to handle provisioning of services. The system is designed so that plug-ins can be added dynamically and configuration changes can be made, both without restarting the system. Thanks to Microsoft’s flexible architecture, plug-ins can now be written using any of the .Net family of languages, including Visual Basic.Net and Visual C#.Net. Extensive support for plug-in development allows developers to quickly design and deploy new provisioning plug-ins, so that any of Inovaware’s customers can quickly take advantage of new opportunities and services.
• Blogware Provisioning API - The Blogware Provisioning API (BPA) is a .NET programming interface allowing external programs to easily provision and manage blogware accounts. To ensure the highest degree of security for blogware resellers, it utilizes an XML-RPC based API, accessible only using SSL encrypted methods over HTTP. This blogware feature is rapidly becoming a key element of service companies’ tools for efficiently servicing customers.
• Web Applications - ASP.NET is playing a prominent role in supporting Inovaware's backend applications with a web interface accessible to end users, including customer self care, customer service representative and technical support and repair functionalities. Largely because of ASP.NET, Inovaware has been able to deliver, highly scalable and flexible web applications to its customers in a highly cost-effective manner.
• Custom Reports Using MS SQL Server 2000 Reporting Services – MS SQL Server Reporting Services is rapidly becoming the reporting software of choice. Inovaware’s customer are finding that Mircosoft’s reporting solution has more features and flexibility and is easier to use than other competitive products in the market today.
Since 2005, virtually all core software developments for PRISM, Resolve, and Web applications were done using Microsoft .NET technology. Inovaware’s record performance in 2005 can be, in part, attributable to the features and capabilities of Microsoft’s ISV Empower software package.
